Link rested his chin on his knuckles, smiling to himself as he looked across the dinner hall, at a certain angel conversing with his friend Marth.
"You're staring again," Roy said, not looking away from his plate. Link didn't stop gazing at his crush, for he didn't hear his friend. Roy repeated himself, but still, Link's eyes didn't budge. The Lord rolled his eyes and set his fork onto his tablecloth. Roy shoved Link's elbow out of under his head, making his chin fall onto his plate.
"Hey!" he gasped, grabbing his napkin to wipe the mashed potatoes off his cheek. "What was that for?!"
"You were staring at Pit again," said Roy. "You told me to prevent you from doing that. And you weren't listening."
" the Hylain said, looking around him to see if anyone's had noticed. "
The blonde blushed and returned his attention to his supper.
"Why don't you just tell him already?" Roy said irritably. "You've been like this for the past week. I really think you should just go over there, and confess already."
"Roy, you know I can't do that
" said Link, shaking his head.
"Humor me; why can't you?"
what if he doesn't like me back? Then I'd have made a total fool of myself, right in front of him."
"Well, you'll never know until you ask, Romeo." Roy swallowed a mouthful of water and looked at Link.
Link moved his eyes from Pit, across the hall, to his young friend. What should he do? Confront Pit as Roy had said? Just stay to himself and not do anything? What if Pit wasn't even like him, and didn't care for boys? He would be so embarrassed, and he wouldn't be able to talk to him without having the want to run away. But
it was worth a shot, right?
"I'll talk to him after dinner," Link decided.
Roy smiled at Link, happy he was finally cooperating.
Roy was shoving at Link's back trying to get him go out the doors, and into the garden.
"You said--you would--talk to him!" the Lord panted.
but I don't want to anymore," Link sighed.
"You can't chicken out like that, Link!" Roy said, giving Link a push that made him move half an inch.
"I'll do what I want," the Hylain simply said.
Roy stopped trying to move Link, and walked to see his face.
"Link, you go and talk to Pit about your feelings, and I'll
" He sighed, not wanting to say what he was about to. "I'll give you my desert every night for two weeks
"You?!" Link laughed, not believing his friend. "You will give me your desert?! HA!"
"I'm serious, Link," Roy said sternly. "I swear I will, if you just go and talk to Pit."
Link thought a second, and looked over Roy's head to see Pit and Marth sitting on a wooden bench and pointing at butterflies they saw.
"But, look," Link said, pointing at the two. "Marth's with him. Can't I just wait until he's alone?"
"Oh, pfft," Roy said, flicking his wrist. "I'll go get Marth out of the way, easy."
Link tried to grab Roy's sleeve and bring him back, but the red-head was already speed-walking toward his lover.
"Hey, Marth," Roy said, as he stood in front of the prince and Pit.
"Hello, Roy," Marth said.
"Hi, Roy!" Pit sang.
Roy sat in Marth's lap, wrapping his arms around his neck. He set his forehead on Marth's.
"What are you doing
?" Marth gasped.
"I was wondering if you wanted to spend the night in my dorm, Marthy," Roy said, rubbing his nose on Marth's jaw and cheek. "It's awfully lonely."
" the prince stuttered, feeling a heat wave wash over him.
Pit giggled to himself with a finger at his lower lip.
"How 'bout it, Marth?" Roy asked again.
"N-now?" Marth stammered. "I-I don't think so
Roy pressed his mouth against Marth's, making the prince shutter. The Lord sucked on his neck and jaw, making the angel giggle some more and the prince get hotter and hotter.
" he said. "Do you--do you think you could stop?"
"Come on, Marth," Roy said seductively. "Just come with me."
He kissed Marth one more time, and ran his fingers through his blue hair. Marth's eyes widened, and put his hands on Roy's back.
"Uhh, Pit, I've got to go," Marth said, as he stood. Roy clung to his chest and sucked on his neck. "Sorry but I'll talk to you later."
Marth walked away with Roy, leaving the giggly Pit alone at the bench. As Roy passed Link, he looked back at the Hylain and hissed,
"Go, man! Go!"
Link breathed in, and started to walk over to Pit. He sat next to the angel nervously, twiddling his thumbs in his lap.
"Oh, hi, Link," Pit said, wiping the nape of his neck. "What's up?"
" said the blonde, not sure what to tell him. After a moment of awkward sitting and breathing, Link swallowed his fear. "Umm, Pit, there's something I've been wanting to tell you."
Pit turned and crossed his legs on the bench, looking up at Link with big eyes.
" Link hesitated, but swallowed again and continued. "Pit, I'm really taking my chances asking you this, and I have no idea if you're like me, but I have to ask now." He looked into Pit's deep blue eyes. "Pit
The angel breathed in, and wrapped his arms around the Hylain's chest.
"Link, I feel the same way," he said, burying his face into the surprised blonde's chest. "I have for such a long time, but I was way too scared to tell you."
Link set his hand on the back of Pit's head.
Link slowly put his arms around Pit as well, holding him in a tight embrace. Pit looked up from Link's shirt, into his eyes. He strained his neck to press his lips shakily against the Hylain's. Link was taken back by the kiss, but slowly closed his eyes and kissed Pit back. The small angel was still shaking like crazy, so Link pulled Pit forward, onto lap so he didn't have to reach so far, and put his hands on his cheeks, to hold his head still. The kiss lasted until they both parted, making a slight smacking sound.
"You don't know how long I've wanted to do that," Pit smiled.
Link hugged his shoulders and didn't let him go.
"Link?" Pit asked.
"Do you think we could sit here for a while?" he said shyly.
"Whatever you want," Link agreed, stroking Pit's soft brunette hair.
Pit sighed with contentment, resting his head on Link's rising and falling chest comfortably.
